50mph two lane... I come up to a honda SUV doing 42ish. It's a passing zone. It's clear. I pass. He accelerates. I accelerate more. I finish the pass and resume going 50mph. I turn at the next intersection. 35mph two lane, no passing. Guess what? honda SUV is soon on my bumper. I point to the 35mph speed limit sign, his response is the finger... I enter a 25mph zone... now he's like inches from impact... then he backs off... Go through a 4 way stop... leave him way behind as he has to wait his turn. Soon enough he's on my a.s again. next light I pass someone and leave him stuck behind that garden variety sloth.... One of the worst kinds of driver... he drives the same speed everywhere and does not like it if someone is going slower or faster than him. Equivalent in lack of quality is the one on the open highway (clear of heavy traffic), with no change in the posted SL, whose speed varies from 15 below to 15 above, and not operating a truck (have to beat GPSTroll on mentioning that exception). I find it so comical that some drivers take somebody passing them like that SO personal. Driving and being thin-skinned isn't a good combination. It's often the seeds of road rage. Let us consider the OP, for some mild comical relief. He feels he must pass, even though he will be turning off shortly. That seem more an emotional decision than a rational one. Then, in an ironic twist, characterizes the other driver as "one of the worst" because they don't like someone to their front going slower. Not much rationality trying to bust out there. Should we believe the OP was not tailgating before he passed the SUV, and the SUV driver likewise retaliated? Or was it just because they don't like it if "someone is going slower or faster" than they? Just as enjoyable- those that go slooow everywhere, except where its possible to pass. Those spots, SL+10. Dave |
