Went over to the grocery store this evening to pick up some cat litter
(the little pookies were fresh out). Walking through the parking lot,
I saw a local police cruiser parked, unattended, with its engine
running. I looked around, but didn't see any cops.

The car was still there (and the engine was still running) 10 minutes
later when I left the store.

I suppose cops think that nobody in their right mind would ever steal
a police car?

I guess gas is still cheap when you aren't paying for it.
I still see lots of people idling in the parking lot.     (they let
their cars run, too.....)

I see this sort of thing frequently. If you looked around you might have
found the cop having lunch or something... yes they just leave the
cruisers running.

Hey, if they get an emergency call, they won't waste that precious second or
two to actually have to start the car up.  Pretty smukin' fart of them, huh?

Any thoughts on why a cop would do that?  In fact why does anyone leave
their car running while they go into a store?. Just an invitation to theft
and a waste of gas.

Maybe they're just too dumb to know how to shut it off??

Just a thought ;-)
