Morons Snarl Traffic for Free Gas AGAIN!

A gas station in Cerritos is giving away 10 gallons of gas for FREE,
and once again the idiots have been lining up since 10:00 last night.
Traffic in the area is, of course, snarled, so even people who aren't
dumb enough to participate in the giveaway are going to be affected.

These asinine gasoline promotions should be outlawed. If you want to
give away gasoline, just give everyone who shows up a voucher and send
them on their way. Then they can come back some other time and spend
it WITHOUT causing needless traffic congestion.

For ten gallons I would consider showing up with five gallon cans
strapped to my old bicycle :) and cutting in line to the front, getting
there right as they opened ;)

Get this... last weekend I am stop along my route at the station with
the lowest gas price. I pull up to the pump and fill the tank. Get back
in the car, start it... look out my rearview and there is this asshat
who wants my place at the pump. He's blocking me in. (path is blocked
forward by other people filling up). Guy next to me is already waiting
for this asshat to get out of the way. I yell out the window that if he
wants the pump I have to get out first. Guy goes into a rage and starts
screaming and cursing about something with the other guy... who can't
get out because he's blocking him too. So I just sit there. Eventually
the idiot figures out he's blocking us in. He pulls to the side. The guy
next to me pulls out. I follow. As I pass by him I slow and say 'see how
that magically works?' or something like that and go on my way.

This isn't the first time this sort of thing has occured, but one of the
most idiotic one.

When is traffic around Cerritos not snarled between 6-9am?

Nobody's ever accused you of being a marketing genius, have they?

Like lemmings to a cliff..... Lesseee, 10 gallons of the saudi arabian
equivalent of crack, that translates into what, about US$45.00 or so?
These lemmings must really not value their time too much....

And ofcourse, everyone else pays for it.

Sorry, Scott, I have to disagree here. Governmental interference is
not the answer. Though maybe ticketing the lemmings who are
obstructing the flow of traffic would be appropriate.

But where would the pubilcity be in that? Just curious, who was
sponsoring this promotion? A local radio station?
