EZ Pass question

Hello All

This is for those familiar with EZ Pass.

I just got one (NY) and didn't want to use the tape on my windshield. So I
got three clear suction cups (about 1 1/4 inch each) with narrow wire hooks.
I straightened out the hooks and placed the wires between the two sides of
the Dual Lock mounting tape to hold the cups. For the third one, I attached
another piece of Dual Lock horizontally between the other two pieces. and
inserted the wire. The three cups hold hold the EZ Pass transponder nice and
tight on the glass next to my inside mirror (92 Explorer).

Is there any reason to believe that the suction cups will interfere with the
signal? I know you can buy suction cup holder for EZ Pass. But in my case,
the cups are blocking a lot of the EZ Pass surface between the transponder
and windshield, so I don't know. This radio transmission, so I'm thinking it
shouldn't matter.

Thanks.

I have a suction cup mount for the Ipass (same gizmo I think) that is
two suction cups on a metal plate. used some adhesive to hold the plate
to the transponder. Works just fine.

Try it and find out. You will see if the signal is being blocked when
you pass through an EZ-Pass toll and it says "not paid." You won't have
to pay a fine, even if you get a summons in the mail because the summons
will have a form included with it that lets you write down your EZ-Pass
account number to prove you didn't evade the toll.

Thanks for the thoughts. Based on what you said, Brent, seems like it should
work easily. And if I'm not risking anything, it's worth a try. I don't
expect to use it very often, maybe for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Thanks again.
