Wheel bearing, tread noise (yes), or maybe the cat stuck in the
wheelwell.

Could be a bearing. But, 1st look for a flat spot on the tread. s

Jack the car and spin the suspected wheel. Look at the entire tire
carefully for lumps or excessive runout that could be a result of
damaged inner belts of the tire. If you don't see any anomolies... you
should investigate the bearing... or possibly the CV joint (if so
equipped).
