This could be your lucky day!!!
After spending the last 20 years as an upholstery engineer in charge of
designing dashboard covers for a premier Tijuana auto upholstery shop, I am
retiring, and selling off all my reference literature.
Among that literature is a Mexican Society of Auto Engineers "Guide Book
For Dashboard Covers" - which includes half-scale patterns for all known
automotive, truck, bulldozer, and pedal car dashboards built between 1965
and 2006 (subscription updated yearly).
Included are technical articles on Naugahyde (How to commercially raise,
slaughter, and skin Naugas, and how to tan, and dye the hydes), Shag (What
is the correct length of shag based on a car's potential speed?) and, as a
bonus, "Pom-Poms - Size, spacing and dangle. What is politically correct?"
There is a complete history of the strict licensing procedure for Tijuana
upholstery shops - including an entire chapter on the "Great Velour
Disaster of 1985" which led to many of the current stitching regulations -
along with a current set of regulations and a license application. This is
all endorsed by TUG-IT - the "Tijuana Upholstery Group - In Tijuana"
I was going to put all this stuff on e-bay, but I will consider selling it
privately for $500US.
Just send me your personal e-mail, and, so I can start the licensing
process for you, your social security number, also, so I may start the
credit reference, a copy of one of your blank checks, or a recent bank
statement.
I am excited about this, and I am sure it will be unilaterally gratifying.
