a/c doesn't work

being full on freon and the compressor still won't kick on , what
troubleshooting steps would be next on this 2001 dodge neon? other than
looking at fuses etc> thanks Randy

How do you know it's full of 'freon'?

filled it with gauge that comes with recharge kit from the store and it 's
right where it should be.

Are you sure you read the instructions on the refill kit. Doesn't it say the
A/C has to be turned on and working for the gauge reading to indicate the
amount of charge?

On a full system the low side pressure gage should read about 30 Psi. with
the system running but around 90 to 110 psi with the compressor off. If it
read 30 psi with the compressor off then it is very low on refrigerant.
