Hello Tech People:
On the way home from work, the gauges on the instrument panel of my 96
Grand Am quit working. From left to right, they are oil temp, RPM,
speed, and fuel level. They all read zero now. I checked fuses, but
couldn't find one that related to gauges. Any idea to fix this?
Thanks!

By the way, I did find another fuse block in the engine compartment, in
addition to the one under the dash, and neither seemed to have a blown
fuse.

My mechanic told me it is some main computer board that is driving all
the gauges. Without that board working correctly, the car is operating
in some sort of default mode, without the benefit of a more
computerized influence on fuel injectors, etc. Mechanic said that
driving it this way gets poorer mpg. He is working on finding a used
part to fit.
