Hi All,

I have a 1987 Monte Carlo w/power windows. They take forever to go up
and down. Is it the motors that need replacing? Or do I need to change
regulators or other stuff? Or is it a ground issue, being that when I
rev the motor the windows move a little quicker? This is my first time
changing power window stuff, any advise is more than welcomed. Has
anyone used aftermarket motors, regulators etc from Original Parts
Group...eBay...or anywhere else?

Also, the car doesn't have power locks. Has anyone installed power
locks on this vehicle.

Thanks in advance,

Thomas

GM is known for this problem.. There are several contributing factors.
Often the tracks are fouled and present heavy loads for the motors.
The motors themselves are not terribly robust, in my experience.

So you sort of have to get inside and see what is wrong.

Electrical connections are always of primo importance in situations
like these.  The better the grounds and primary wiring, the better
you can expect the windows to work.

Thanks for the advise. I probably would not have checked the tracks.
When I get in there, I guess I'll check everthing before purchasing any
parts.
