Is this my transmission ??
I can't go over 40 in drive or o/d but it does in 2nd gear. Just not
sure this is a transmission problem as it ran so well. Had a bunch of
wiring and other work done by a backyard type mechanic. All was well
till about a week later and while driving it all of a sudden lost power
and would only rev if I tried to go over 40 and when it happened it
smelled like something was burning, someone else was in the car and
smelled this too.
The engine kicks over smoothly at 20 and 40 no problem
Now I know it's probably not good to drive the car like this but I am ,
just not going too far too fast. How bad is this on the car ?? anyone
know I try to ease up easy when letting off the gas so there is not a
big pull as it gears back down to 2nd.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
