Hello, for some reason, my Toyota Corrola (2001)'s paint on the front
bumper is peeling off. Almost the entire bumper is affected. Probably
the previous owner had banged it and repainted it before selling it. At
any rate, any guesses/experiences on how much it might cost to get just
the affected area painted? Also, there's a small dent (about 4 inches
in diameter) at the back of the car from a parking lot hit and run
case. Any guesses/experiences on how much it might cost to get the dent
fixed? I'm thinking of going to a dealer's body shop.

In my area, last year, it was basically $350to $400 to make any type of
collision repair to a bumper..
The bumper has to be removed, fixed/not fixed, and then painted. The
painting and the remove replace are the $$$ areas.

Hard to say. Anyone who talks of going to a dealershop bodyshop apparently
doesn't worry about money anyway.
Seriously, go out and get some estimates. Avoid the franchise bodyshops and
dealership dentmongers.

While I agree that the dealership is probably not the most
"cost-effective" route, with a teen driver last year and "three
accidents" of varying intensity and bumper damage, it didn't seem to
matter much.....the price was always about $380 for a bumper repair.
If, of course the bumper was totally destroyed, that is probably a
different matter. But I was told they had to pull the bumper, fix the
owie and paint the entire bumper in each case and pretty much the
"no-cost" part of the repair was fixing the owie.
YMMV
