Hey all,

My girlfriend just got a used Audi A4, 02 or 03.  The auto dim
mirror started to leak what ever solution it holds down onto plastic
around the stick shift, ruining the plastic and rendering the mirror
half worthless.  She called the dealer about a replacement part and was
told it would cost 300$ to fix and she could not do it herself. They
said she would probably break the windshield trying to replace it.
Does any one have any experience with this?  I refuse to believe that
we cannot replace the mirror with a manual one and just be done with it.

What about getting the original mirror off?  can I use a solvent like
acetone to disolve the glue, or just try and pry it of?
