'99 Cavalier.  The only axle/spindle nut sockets I can find around here
are 30mm and up.  30mm feels too big.  With my not-too-precise calipers,
I measure 1.15".  Is this maybe a 28mm?  1 3/16?
Clues?

Thanks,
George

28mm = 1.102", or about 1 7/64"

1.15" = 29.21mm

1 3/16" = 30.1625mm

Try to get a 6-sided 30mm or 1 3/16" socket.  Any impact wrench socket
should be 6-sided.

1 1/8" maybe? 1.15 is 29 mm. 1 3/16" is a legit size, but I'd be surprised
if that was the correct one, and it is over 30 mm. So if the 30mm socket was
loose, the 1 3/16" socket would be worse.

Apparently, it's a 30mm - at least, that worked.  I still think it felt
loose, but who can argue with success?
