This should cover many years of GMs in the mid 80s at the least but in
my case it's an '84 Pontiac with Cruise but NOT with intermittent or
'delay' wipers.

How do I replace the switch? Do I need to pull the steering wheels and
get down into the column?  It's a tilt column.

Also if I have a replacement switch that also has delayed wiper setting
in addition to the cruise/wipers/washer that my original has - will it
work? Will I gain delayed wiper mode? Or does that require a different
motor or harness?

Thanks

Old car!! - as I (guessing) remember you remove the plastic around the
steering column and possibly have to drop the steering column (2 nuts) for
clearance. To the rear of the steering wheel should be a couple of screws or
perhaps nuts attaching blinker switch!

If your car is listed here, then goto the right into
steering/suspension.  Even if it isn't listed, most likely the
procedure is very much the same amongst the models listed and yours.

Re the intermittent, I believe the there is a relay involved that
delays the motor, and that relay has to be added.  But, it may be in
the motor, I really not sure.
