Hello,

What is the difference between a scanner and a code reader?

I am in the market for an OBD I & II reader. I have found Autoxray and
Actrons.

The scanners seem to be more expensive.

Any recommendations?

Depends, for codes only the code reader will do, but to get live info
from the sensors a basic scanner is needed, the issue is what are you
going to try and do here just get codes or based on the scanner info
dive in try and interpet the readings and do repairs.

So it sounds like I would get much more info from a scanner.

I want to interpret, dive in and repair.
