paint questions

I've got an older truck that I am planning to take to Maaco for thier
budget 2 part enamel paint job.  I was once told that it is a bad idea
to have a car painted in the winter / rainy season because the cold
damp air will somehow adversly affect the paint while it is curing.  Is
there any truth to this?  I'd rather not wait until the spring to do
this but will wait if needed.

One other question, there is some minor body work that I'm planning to
do myself and I am thinking of using a sandable aerosol primer like
rustoleum to cover it before taking it to maaco - is this a bad idea?
I don't want my paint peeling off because I used a hardware store
primer...

Thanks for any advice

I would contact the shop to see what type of primer is needed for their
type of paint to go over and stick to.

Before you do it, check up on Maaco.
