passat 02 grinding

just noticed a very low grinding when accelerating from a stop around
the 10mph mark. Car was always serviced by vw dealer. 60,000 miles on
it'

This describes a million things, from shock bushings to wheel bearings.
Can you tell where it's coming from?  Front or back?  Right or left?
Does it also happen when you slow down to a stop?

the noise is from the front, and does not happen when I slow down, only
when accelerating

The noise is very slight, could be a rubbing noise - doesnot sound like
its coming for the wheeles. More like middle of the car.
