Basically I'm looking for a small air compressor that I can use to fill
up my tires if they get a few PSI low. The one I have now uses the
car's power which is great when I'm not at home. I keep that pump in
the car. But when I'm at home I don't want to use the car's battery or
have the car running when I pump up the tires.
Is there such an animal? What about one that does both? Uses 12v when
I' on the road and 110v when I'm at home?

I'm assuming you don't have need for any of the bigger "real" air
compressors.

I think some of the 'battery packs' or battery boosters/starters have a
built-in air compressor, & they run & recharge on 110-volts at home and
re-charge while driving via 12-volts from the cigarette lighter. Sears?
Auto-Zone? Battery specialist sales? Also, I surely don't know how well
they work, but their idea sounds neat. s

I just run the cheap little 12v job off my battery charger sometimes. Works
fine.
Someday I hope to get a good air compressor for air tools, but that has been
an expense I have not
chosen to take on, yet.
