alternator?

hello could it be an alternator problem if when i step on the gas i hear a
revving like noise through my stereo speakers ? thanks

It could be.  You should post what kind of vehicle, things vary.  Could
be injector noise too or a bad plug or coil wire even.

If it is a new stereo install, then the ground isn't likely right.  They
get the least noise 'usually' with the power and ground fused and run
right to the battery.
