Wiring diagram for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport

I am having problems with my 2000 Cherokee Sport... It does not seem to
want to start, it cranks over, but no spark, also, the instrument
cluster is dead.  It has happened before, but it seemed to work itself
out on it own, now it is not.  My mechanic tried to hook it up to his
computer, but it seems that either the computer in the car is not
responding, or cannot be connected.  I tried another computer from one
of my other Jeeps, but to no avail.  I also noticed that the owners
manual no longer has the wiring diagrams in it.  Does any one know
where I can get a copy of the wiring diagram for this Jeep?  You can
either post here or send email to me at thexamdu@gmaiil.com.  Thanks.

The one in the Haynes manual might be close enough, because you have
such a gross problem.  Check voltage on each of the fuses... check voltage
on the computer... then check voltage at the ignition switch.  If power
isn't making it down the line, the ignition switch is a popular offender.

Scott,

Thanks for your reply... We have tried all that, there is no voltage to
any of the fuses or computer, there is voltage to the ignition switch,
the motor cranks over, but that is all... We have taken out the entire
instrument cluster hoping to find a loose wire or something, but no
such luck... All the fuses are good, we took them all out and replaced
them all, same thing...  Will try to find a Haynes manual, but since I
live on a small Caribbean island, going to my local auto shop/store is
sort of out of the question unless I want to travel to the main island
of Puerto Rico for it.

I would be thinking fuse link wire.

These are 8" wires with a loop on one end and a fat rubber tube crimp
connection on the other end where they joint the harness.  If you follow
the main battery positive cable, it will end on a bolt at the power
distribution center or starter relay on the fender.  At this bolt you
will find the fuse links.

These protect the harness pieces in case of a short and are usually the
first thing cooked if someone tries to boost it and gets the cables
wrong so it sparks.

You also should have a mesh body ground strap that runs from the rear of
the engine to the firewall.  When this breaks or corrodes, the computer
doesn't get a power circuit to turn on.

You should post this over on rec.autos.makers.jeep+willys for a lot more
opinions and likely even a link to the wiring diagram.
