A basic 4.100 bore gasket that comes in the standard 350 rebuild gasket
set is what most people use. Depending on the use for the motor, you can
buy a set specifically made for the 305 bore but I've only seen them
through GM performance parts. You aren't losing much in terms in
compression and probably isn't worth the extra expense. If you're
looking to maximize your compression ratio, you could run steel shim
gaskets (.015" thickness) instead of standard thickness (.041").
