I have an '02 silverado with the 4.8l engine and I am getting a P0332
code "knock sensor signal frequency outside normal range". I have
cleared it several times but it comes back withing a few minutes. Does
this mean the sensor is bad or is it telling me the engine is
knocking? The sensor is under the intake manifold so it is a faily big
job to replace it. What else should I look at? Thanks for any help.

Well, listen to the engine.  Do you hear it knocking?   If not, it is
either the sensor, or the sensor is falsing on some other new high frequency
vibration source.

I saw a service bulletin on that code for your vehicle. It said the problem
might be caused by water getting into the rear knock sensor cavity.

The correction is to replace the rear knock sensor. There is a procedure,
you might talk to the service department of your local GM dealership,
maybe they will give you a copy of the service bulletin.

The code may be caused by something else, I just happened to see that
bulletin.
