My Contour has a bad tranny (again). I took it to a trusted mechanic
and after looking at it and diagnosing it, he told me that he would
not fix it, even if I gave him the $2500 it would cost to replace it.
I agree with him; I don't think it's worth fixing this car.

So my question now is this: How much can I expect to sell this car for
(for parts or for anyone who wishes to replace the tranny) as it is in
good condition, except for the second and fourth gears on the
transmission?

Mileage is just a hair over 100K.
