Hi a friend brought in her 2002 Mitsubushi Gallant 3.0 which failed MA
inspection due to her check engine light on, and a code for a
crankshaft position sensor which works, since she has been
experiencing intermittent starting problems. I have no idea where this
sensor is located on the 3.0? It should have a triangular connector,
and a two bolt mounting bracket which should show through the
crankshaft or bell housing end. Any Mitsubushi Techs know the answer?

Thanks a bunch!

It is behind the timing cover on the crank pulley.
