OH, 3 days LATER it's no longer empty, so tell us again how you CORRECTED
him. LOL

I did exactly that. I just posted hoping others wouldn't waste their time.

Funny I didn't PAY anything to acces your site, so that would make it FREE
would it not ??? But to answer your question I would like an accurate
answer to my question if I was having problems with my car.
Are you telling me that your site has no point in helping people with their
automotive problems by giving them an accurate answer to their question????
You are really onlyinterested in the # of posts ?????
Maybe you should quite looking

type of attitude with folks who are actually having problems with their
cars. LOL
I can just see it now:
Website patron : "I used your website for help with my tranny problem, the
only problem is the advice I recieved caused my tranny to blow up"
summer1978 reply : " What do you want for free ???? I didn't personally
invite you to use this site, no f.ck off"

And even less from your website. LOL

Hey!...Hey!.......He's paying 10 cents-per-post.
THAT ought to draw out the best, absolute top-notch, automotive technicians
in the world, don't you think?

How is he going to pay that ten cents, I wonder?
Could the whole site be a scam for enticing people to give up their bank
account info or something?

I paid through pay pal...and it's not a scam...a lot of forums do it
to start out...to get some quality info...that's why i advertised it.
Right now on the market you could buy starting at 1000 posts for $50
that why I offered a little more. A lot of people spent time posting
just out of the personal satisfaction...Wouldn't be nice to get $50 in
addition to that once in a while?

I think of the amount of time it would take to earn $50 with your
scheme...and I decide I have better things to do with my time, thanks.
Now if you offered $50 for EACH post, that would be a different story. At
that point you'd have the pro's interested. And you'd get pro-quality info,
which your site is sorely lacking just now.

You do participate in online discussions right?
Like this one for instance...Do you get paid for posting here?
Probably not.
Wouldn't you be glad to get $10 here and there? All it takes is 100
posts.
This discussion that we are making here...would already make $2...
And how much time have you spent do it? Probably not too much...
And I bet you anything you enjoyed it.

Let's take a closer look at your "easy" $10.
If one were able to write AND post a comment every 1.2 minutes NONSTOP, he
would earn that $10 in two hours worth of work.
That is $5.00 per hour - less than minimum wage, along with being more
tedious and labor-intensive than flipping burgers, which would pay more.
So, now you've not only violated copyright law, you are flaunting minimum
wage laws.

$10

If he is paying anything per post he is overpaying for the info he is
getting. From a quick glance at his site it seems like only a few folks are
posting answers but the info is useless.

Listen Mike,
I'll explain to you how forum works...You have to come in and ASK
QUESTIONS
and then you will get your answer. How do you know if my forum is not
good if you have not asked anything?
Just because of the threads that other people create? Well some people
have very little automotive knowledge. And it is not the bad thing. We
all here to learn. That's is way we have groups like this and forums
like mine. And I think it is pretty lame to give out opinions without
even trying it out. Did you try it? Did you ask any questions? What
kind of answers did you receive? Did you like your answers? What was
the general attitude? Only after answering these question you can say
that "Don't waste you time that online community sucks" But you didn't
do that, did you? You just went there look at other people posts and
decided that you better then them. And yes we have copies of the other
sources that's why on the bottom of the welding article there is a
link to the site where we got it from...and it's permitted. It's easy
to be a hater...it's way harder to take time and evaluate something
for what it really worth...I had one guy registered from the news
group...He was one of the first posts...and we did help him...and he
was thankful. After all, it all about your attitude.

Much of my work for the past three and one-half decades has been covered by
copyright law.
Would you care to cite the particular aspect of copyright law that allows
you to plagiarize copy from other websites and printed material?

I am not questioning you being and expert and all but I think it is
called a quotation whenever you reveal the source...no?
Plagiarism is when you take something and claim that it is you who
came up with it.

There's a fine line between quoting a few paragraphs with attribution, and
the outright stealing of a complete article in order to enhance your own
publication/website.
It is one thing to say, "According to the book, "Modern Welding
Technology", a welder is one who welds." but, another thing entirely to use
the entire article as though you paid the author for the rights.
You have, obviously, crossed that line.
You have appropriated the work of others - without compensation - to
enhance your own website.....That is plagiarism!........
.....and, if that definition doesn't work for you.......
......you have stolen intellectual property - the author of which is
protected from such theft by copyright law.

The front page of Hobart's web site states specifically,
"Copyright 2007 All Rights Reserved"
The copyright notice in the Prentice-Hall book "Modern Welding Technology"
from which Hobart quoted the welding definition states in black and white,
"All rights reserved. No part of this book may be reproduced in any form or
by any means without permission *in writing* from the publisher."
Gotta' believe Hobart has that letter on file.......
Gotta' believe you don't - placing YOU in violation of copyright law.....
Go find yourself a good lawyer - one who knows a little - make that a LOT -
more about copyright law than you do........
Oh yeah, I've sent a note to a friend of mine who works at Prentice Hall
suggesting that he log into your website.......
You DO want MORE traffic, don't you?
That's why you're SPAMMING newsgroups, isn't it?

You know what traffic I got from this news group 6 people in 4 days.
Yeah that's huge spamming!!!
I hoped I could find people interested in cars.
Thanks for the note on copyright law.
At least got something useful out of this discussion.

Are you SO f******g stupid to believe that with all the viri, spybots, and
other garbage floating around these days that people are eager to click
onto an anonymously-provided link in an unmoderated newsgroup?
Your comment simply validates the sheer stupidity of SPAMMERS, and restores
my faith - just a little bit, anyway - in the intelligence of the general
public.

All I got is 6 people visit from this thread.
I don't think you could call it a lot of traffic or spamming. :)))
I was looking for people who would be interested in auto discussions.
I well wrong place I guess.
Thanks for the tips on the copyright law.
Got something new out of it.

Your post was spam. The fact that you only got six people just means
that you aren't very good at spamming.
>I was looking for people who would be interested in auto discussions.
>I well wrong place I guess.
Your site might be the best thing since sliced bread.. I'll never
know as I have no interest in visiting something run by someone who
refuses to learn and follow the rules. You spam the newsgroups and
apparently steal content from others. No thanx... There are
hundreds of other sites out there that do follow the rules.

Well, you're trying to get something for nothing by plagiarizing
copyrighted material from textbooks.
I refer, of course, to your "metal work" section where the definition of
welding has been lifted from Hobart.
Unless the copyright notice specifically states, "Limited reproduction
allowed if proper credit is given", then YOU are in violation of copyright
law!!!!!
