My wifes honda's check engine light came on the other week.  We got
the codes scanned and they said it was a leak in the system but they
didn't know where.  My wife says that when she fills up the light goes
out.  When she hits the 3/4 mark on the fuel gauge it comes back on.
Then when she hits the 1/4 mark it will go out.  Anybody else ever had
this problem or have any idea how to fix it.  Thanks.

What were the actual codes that the reader spit out?

The easiest way to do this is to have it repaired by someone with a
smoke machine.  You fill the system with smoke and look to see where
it is coming out and there's your leak.

Assuming you are referring to an EVAP leak, the reason the check
engine light is only coming on between 3/4 tank and 1/4 tank is
that is when the EVAP monitors run.  No monitor above 3/4 tank,
no monitor below 1/4 tank.

On most cars the monitor has to run and pass for the light to go out.

This car might be doing a reset at startup.

Sounds like a small Evap leak since those are the conditions under which
it would run the EVAP tests.
Could be anything from a bad gas cap, bad vapor line from the tank to
the canister, bad purge solenoid or even something on the tank itself.
You need to trace the system using the proper diagnostic tree to find it.

Your traces indicate you're in the North-east. Rust Belt territory.

You need to give the actual alphanumeric error code. Is it P1457? Something
else? This is critically important.

There are a number of known issues with your EVAP system. Knowing the
actual error code will help narrow it down. The bypass valve is a common
fail point due to road salt--for some reason Honda put the EVAP canister at
the bottom of the engine compartment on that model.

Honda has issued some half-dozen TSB's on EVAP problems for this car.

Also please specify if you have a 4 or a V6.
