OK, i just bought an '84 Land Cruiser with a manual choke, and I have
no idea of how to use it.  My impression is that it's to adjust the
fuel/O2 mixture until the engine is warm.  I also live were it can get
pretty cold, below zero often.  Can someone help me out?

I appreciate any help and advice.

Thanks!!!

When the engine is dead cold, push the gas pedal to the floor and pull
the choke knob all the way out.  this will set the choke.  release the
gas pedal and try to start the engine as normal. The engine should
then start, push the knob in as far as you can and have the engine
still run smoothly, then when it warms up push it all the way in.
