Blower Quits on Acceleration!

I have a 92 Ford E-250 van. On the highway, cruising at say 60 MPH, I
encounter traffic or a hill. I accelerate to pass or maintain speed up the
grade, the blower cuts out. Doesn't matter whether I'm using the AC, Vent or
Heat; the blower just quits & doesn't come back on unless I lift off the gas
completely. Anyone ever encounter this problem & know the fix?

On a lot of cars, the vent controls are operated by engine vacuum. If the
system is leaking (like in the vacuum accumulator or one of the vacuum
lines), then when you open the throttle a lot, the engine vacuum decreases
greatly and there may not be enough vacuum to hold the vent doors in the
right position. Not sure exactly why the blower is affected, but it could be
that when it loses vacuum, it defaults to some mode where the blower doesn't
run. (You sure the blower actually switches off? A lot of cars seem to
default to windshield defrost if there's no vacuum..)
