Hi,

A friend of mine game me a 2.5 ton wilmar w1634 floor jack. Very nice really
solid but only goes up about half way.

I opened the fill hole and tried to add fluid but it was already full.

Anybody know where I can get parts for it? what about a tear down diagram?

Thanks

My 2 ton jack requires that you spread the jaws all the
way open, otherwise the filler hole will appear full.
Just add fluid and it should work.

Hey Rick,

When you say open the jaws I'm guessing lift the lift as much as possible.
Is that correct?

Also I though I was opening the oil fill hole, it was a check valve. A
spring and a plastic piece popped out. Does the spring go in first?

Thanks

Put the spring and plug back where it belongs.
Look along the cylinder part of the floor jack and you will see a rubber
plug that will appear like a small dome about the size of a dime.  Pry this
out with a screwdriver and fill with jack fluid.

Sounds like when the spring came out, it drag the plastic piece out. I
would just install them in either way and see which would do the lifting.
Fill the other fill hole but filling tends to go fast with the check valve
removed. Spread the lift (jaws are too vague) all the way and keep it
spread with a rod. Analogous to a person manually opening an alligator's
jaw.

Hey Rick,

I tried using the jack today but it would not lift my truck anymore. so I
tightened the nut that holds the check valve. Opened the jaws and filled
with fluid.

Then It just stood there. So I put my foot on the jack and pressed down. The
little oil cover popped out somewhere and oil gushed everywhere.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Does the check valve cover need to go all the way down?

I went to the auotoparts store ( pep boys ) and they don't carry any parts.
Any Idea where I can get a replacement?

Thx

You know for about $60 you can get a half decent floor jack from
Harbor Freight, is this really worth screwing with?
