Hi everyone,

I have a 94 G. Am who's defroster suddenly stopped working. The heat works
but it won't switch from the dash vents to the defroster vents.

Does anyone know if this model/year still works on vacuum?

My auto mechanic buddy says he thinks they are controlled by a solenoid.

I would appreciate any help or ideas before I start taking the dash apart on
this thing.

By the way, I did check the prints in the Haynes manual I have but I
couldn't find mention of a solenoid.

Thanks

Chris

If you're going to use a Haynes manual to try to fix your car, you *need*
to read these instructions FIRST:

http://u225.torque.net/haynes_instructions.html

And then you need to get the FACTORY service manual.

HFS, they are not called selonoids they are actuators and theres more
than one on the heater box.

Damiel, that was a very funny link and the best directions for a Haynes
manual I've seen.
