Good morning everybody
maybe this isn't the right group to post in.  I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana
minivan with activevan conversion.  I just turned 44,000 mi. and I am
getting a service traction system light that always comes on.  Does anyone
here have/have this problem?  Just wondering how to turn off this annoying
light.  Thought I would try a posting here and a Pontiac newsgroup.  Thanks
again everyone

Activan! Is this the same as wheel access van?

-- Side or rear ramp? Kneel or air suspension?

The chassis, engine placement, etc have been so damn altered I get scared
looking at those things <G>

If the traction control system is off and the light is on -- is an indication
that your antilock brakes may have an issue! ASAP take the van in and have the
ABS system checked out!

Thank you for the reply
it is a wheelchair access van; side entry ramp does not have air bags
suspension
so I am assuming air suspension.  We just had brakes installed at Midas.
They put on
new rotors pads, shoes and I guess the brakes are ceramic.  Is there a way
to reset this light
service traction system?  After a few tries on the computer.  It says trac
off.  Did Midas do something
wrong?  Please write back
thanks

Air suspension system is the Airbag System!!! - Chassis has been replaced with
one that has no rear suspension!!! -- <grin> is there an air pump in the engine
compartment??! If the answer is yes then you have the rear airbag (pneumatic)
suspension system -- And YES your entire chassis has been replaced! Does it have
mechanical hand controls, hydraulic, or?

1st you need to take it back to Midas -- Request that there lic. Tech fix their
mistake -- Let them know what the issue is. ....Next time you have any work done
on your van I recommend that you have a licensed auto tech do the work! Don't
take it to Midas, tune-up masters, oil slick, or any of those
fast-food-service-stations type places -- unless you don't mind getting ripped
off, I mean poor, unreliable service!

if you like you may e-mail me direct -- remove the socks!
