I am having symptoms (hesitation on acceleration) on my 88 Chevy Nova
Toyota 4AC engine 2BBL that point to the auxiliary acceleration pump.
Unfortunately, I don't know where it is.  Can someone give me
directions as to its location?  I understand it is a triangular plate
with a vacuum hose going to it, but I can't seem to locate it.  If I am
looking down into the carb from above with the air cleaner removed,
what clock position would it be at? And while I have your attention,
where is the EGR valve?  I have heard disconnecting and plugging the
vauum line to it can also offer some relief.  Thanks.

Hey, I have a 1985 Corolla with the same engine. The AAP should be
located on the carb facing the front of the car, below and to the left
of the float glass. I think it's actually round (or at least in a round
enclosure) and has one vacuum line leading to it. The EGR valve on my
vehicle is "behind" the carb - the side of the carb farthest from the
engine. It should be tan and round, bolted down by two of the same bolts
holding the carb itself.

I have the RWD model Corolla, however, so yours may be different. Hope
it helps though.
