My front passenger-side wheel has been making kind of a "chirping" sound
for a week now (1994 Nissan Maxima). It happens most at low speeds (10
mph and slower), or going around curves. Sounds a little bit like a
game call where two parts are rubbed together.
I don't think it's the wear indicators on the brake pads, although I've
never in my life heard the chirp they're supposed to make. The noise
I'm getting happens when I'm NOT stepping on the brakes; it never makes
a noise as I stop.
The noise does speed up or slow down with the rotation of the tires.
It's like something is caught in the wheel, but I can't see anything.
I'm going to bring it in to the shop next week, but any ideas for now?

This is what I would do. Rotate the tires to the opposite side and
see if the sounds moves with the tire. If does move, suspect the tired
and check for abnormal wear paterns. If not, I would suspect the
bearing.

Bearing is a definite possibility, but could be runout on brake disk
with slight drag from pads. Does the chirping stop with a very light
application of brake?

Check your air pressure first.
A low tire pressure will do exactly what you describe.
Dont just look at the side and say, "it looks full". You cant tell how
a full a tire is by looking at it. Use a good air pressure guage.
If all your tires are at the propper level and you still get the noise,
then swap the right for the left and see what happens.

Does a 1994 Maxima have CV joints?

The noise stops with application of brakes. Yep, brake pads.

If you have hub caps, please take them all off and try it for a couple
of days.
If not, it sure can be the front pads.
