My wife decides she wants a car, looking up on criagslist.com she finds
this 1983 honda accord for sale for 500.
Being the kinda man that I am I said sure but your gonna be responsible
for it.
So she buys it, and hands me the keys and basically says fix it.
So there I am looking at a moon-roofed honda and the ports to the moon roof
are clogged. The engine smokes when started and I can smell gas.
As I sit there with my head on the steering wheel. I figure dam how much
will this cost me for: "yeah sure honney buy it".
So I go behind the panels in the trunk to look at the drip hoses from the
moon roof, yep they were clogged, and the drip tray that leads behind the
mudflaps, they were clogged, and so I fixed that and after changing cloths
(from the stagnant water in the hoses).
I figure look at the fuel filters...I lowered my head, as my eyes gazed at
the factory installed filter. I then look at the primary filter and
accidently broke it in the filter holder (plastic was trojen rubber thin).
Then after realising that I should have removed the gas cap first and
wiping all the gas off my arms and face from the built up pressure. I try
and scrap out the remaining plastic from the holder. On to the oil... Oh
man.. I could bearly move the plug and after 2 hammers a new socket wrench
and a metal bar later put the dam plug back in and restarted the car to
warm up the oil that clumped out. SO I figured 10 minutes should do the
trick.
I let the smooth looking gel substance flow freely. I even bought Dollar
store oil to help me remove any extra grit from the system. Crossing my
fingers hoping the oil would not flow past the pistons like water. I
started the car.. Whoa.. it even stopped the dark smoking and changed into
a nice whiteish blue color.
Now the spark plugs.. Oh My oh My.. I pulled out a plug that looked like a
black stick, no filement, just soild hard gunk. With 5 bandaids on my
plastic glove covered hands I decide to look at the vacuum hoses. Only
replace 15 inches worth (not bad).
I know I need to rebuild the carb and replace the mounting upper and lower
seals. I just have no idea how to change the filter in the tranny, cuz I am
not to sure how to pull out the tranny and where to look to find it.

Actually this little story, which you think is amusing, is pretty pathetic.
It gives the impression that you think your wife is worth about as much as a
$500 car. If she really wants a car, why not work together and find
something that's actually worthy of her?
