Philadelphia mechanics

Hi,
My girlfriend lives in Philly and has a 1994 Ford Escort. It keeps
dying in the parking lot. The battery works because the door beepers
sound and it beeps when she inserts her keys.
This has happened to her twice. She's had Triple A tow it to a Ford
dealership. The dealership charges her $100 and tells her they can't
find anything wrong with the car. The car then works. They are
obviously doing something to make the car start.
Anyway, are there any reputable mechanics in the Philly area,
preferable near Roxborough? She needs to get the car fixed so it will
quit dying.
Thanks,
Heath

Almost certainly you can find a good shop in Philly, but it might not be at
a Ford dealership.
Go to the AAA website and look for their approved mechanics list.  That
would be a good
start.  As a matter of fact, your girlfriend might want to consider
membership.  They offer
a lot of services, like free towing, and she DOES drive a Furd.

Don't take the beepers as a sign the battery is OK. Some of the systems
use very little current and may work even with a very low battery.

If the car will not crank properly check the battery voltage and make
sure the alternator is charging properly.

What if anything did the dealer do to it ?
