1992 f250 speedometer won't work

I have a 1992 f250 deisel pick up. the speedometer and the fuel gauges
won't work. Were do I start to look for the problem? thanks

Start in the fusebox. Auto or stick?? ABS?   May be unrelated,  metal
float in tank prone to holes, sinking.
