WHEN DRIVING BUT MAINLY WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, MY HEADLIGHTS
BEGIN TO FLICKER, ALSO, MY VOLT METER FLUCTUATES BETWEEN LIKE 14 AND 18
VOLTS WHILE CAR IS IDLING WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON........PLEASE HELP, THANX

    The alternator should only put out like 13.5 to 14.5 volts so the
regulator is probably bad.  Nowadays the regulator is built into the
alternator, on old cars it was sometimes seperate.  Only other thing it
could be is wire that feeds alternator like a sample voltage could be
bad but it is a long shot.
