Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me with a tranny question. I
am swaping a 6 spd tranny from a CL-s into my Accord V6. My main
problem is that the accord uses variable reluctor speed sensors that
have 2 wires and the CL uses a 3 wire sensor that outputs a 5Vpp square
wave signal. If I were to connect the 5Vpp signal to the variable
reluctor input would it do any damage? I'm thinking the variable
reluctor signal must be high impedance and shouldn't hurt itself but
it would suck if I burned out the ECU. Thanks for looking.

You are not likely to do any damage at all. AFAIK the VR:s have a
voltage that will be much higher than 5V at high speed. At least the
Ford VR:s are such. The first thing the ECU does is to shape the
signal to become a 5V squarewave signal anyway.
The two inputs are likely differential and you may have a problem
feeding the 5V signal to just one of the inputs. In my EFI converted
Pantera (Ford EEC-IV) I used a VDO hall sensor, which generates a 5V
squarewave signal, and feed that signal to one of the inputs. I could
not make it work by tying the other signal either to ground or
+5V. Tying it to +2.5V via a voltage divider was the simple fix. I
have also modified a friends DeTomaso Guara, which uses Ford EEC-V,
the same way when the DeTomaso factory couldn't get it work properly
;-)

That sound like a great idea! Did you use battery voltage for the
divider or something more regulated? I thinking about using the 5Vref
from my TPS.
