If you have a spark tester to test your ignition system, would it be
neccesary at all to check if the ignition module is pulsing the ground
side of the coil with a test light or voltmeter?

It is easy to have no spark and have a good ignition module.....

It is also feasible to have spark and have a bad ignition module.
