Just pulled a code 179, lean adaptive limit while at
part-throttle,system rich.

Fuel mileage has been down a bit from about 18 to 16.7 or so, and it
finally threw a code.

Did the "check the regulator vac line for fuel" check (was neg.), and
know that I need to check the fuel pressure.

As part of chasing something else, I checked the IAC and the valve
opens and shuts during the KOEO test.

If the FP checks OK, any thoughts on what next? MAF sensor? O2 sensor?

As long as I've had the beast, if you stall it cold it floods and you
have to crank it WFO to get it to start. Sign of leaky injectors, or
would high fuel pressure alone be enough to do this as well?

92 ranger, 4wd, 4L V6. The engine has about 100,000 on it, the truck
(and I think the regulator.) have about 200,000.

And while I'm here, if the TPS mounting holes are not oval, there's no
adjustment needed when the TPS is replaced?

Get a scanner on it and look at the baro sensor reading see if it matches
your area.

It could be a leaking injector. Check the residual FP after shutoff.

The FP reg was  10psi high across the board, 50-40 instead of 40-30 )or
35 or 32...).

Changed it out, will see what develops.
