Marquis shift linkage

Hi all,

My '94 Grand Marquis is not shifting into gear accurately from park. It
will get into gear and drive just fine, but the shift lever kinda seems
loose. From googling, I see that there's a shift linkage lever or tube
or some cable that runs from the lever to the trans. Is that right?

I'm not looking forward to crawling under this time of year in my
garage (Chicago) for a DIY job. Any ballpark ideas on getting this
fixed? Thanks in advance.

It probably needs a new bushing in the transmission end of
the cable.
