Computer diag on 89 riviera

Hi, just got a 89 riviera, changed the battery, and the diagnostics say
there are problems with computer, electrical etc. Is there a reset
needed after changing the battery? Other than that, the car runs like a
dream. Thanks

there is probably a tech way of resetting the computer - but doesn't
removing the

neg. battery cable from the battery post for a couple of minutes - do
the trick?
