i own a 1991 toyota mr2 and recently its gotten really hard to switch
into gears. back in october i had purchased a high performance
clutch in my car that grabbed very hard off firts gear. 2 months
later i couldnt switch gear it had gotten very hard so i took it in and
they told me the clucht was worn out. so i purchased a new one and
still the same problem. 2 years ago i had encountered the same problem
but it came to be my slave and master sylinders had gone bad so i
replaced them and the car ran great. well the mekanics told me the
the sylinders were bad again because the high performance clutch i
had installed in october was too much and they were shot again. so i
replaced the cylinders again put in a new flywheel because the old one
was wore out bought new motor mounts all around even changed the cables
that run from the shifter to the transmission, and still the same
problem. the only time im able to switch gears some wat ok is wen the
car is moving. im about to purchase a new pressure plate from the
dealer because they tell me that might be the problem too. but the
pressure plate it has on there has les than ten miles on it. i dont
know wat else to do. im running out of options. heeeelp.

Hey that high pro clutch may have been too much and damaged something
what kind of fluid is in that tranny that matters alot. toyotas
usually use automatic tranny fluid in their manual trannies .. gear oil
is too much for them find out what your car uses and make sure its in
their one of the mechanics may have topped it off too heavy of a fluid
good luck

hey man you need to find out if one of the times it was worked on a
mechanic didnot put too heavy of a fluid in it. most toyotas use atf in
their manual trannies someone may have topped it off with too heavy of
a fluid and that will make it stiff. good luck
