Just never heard the term blue.
Blue meaning that the title is clean and clear of any leins and no wrecks
or discrepencies. A brown title is usually reffered to salvage title of rebuilt
title/theft recovery.

I live in Texas but haven't heard the term 'blue title' used. Would be
interested
in knowing what the seller is trying to say (or left unsaid):

It means it's a "boy" car.....
Out in California, where most of the cars are female, they use pink
slips......

Sounds like the seller is trying to be "cool" or "chic".
In Texas:
Light blue = clear title.
Green = flood damage up to 60%.
Purple = up to 85% damaged
Brown = totally destroyed.

Hey, 'hrs', above poster is correct. Our SC-state's title-colors mean
NOTHING like your Texas titles do. See the enclosed link for confirmation
of above poster who is correct.

Hey, 'hrs'. Here in SC, at present our titles are blue in color. When
titles first were required in our state, they were of a certain color--I'm
not old enough to recall for sure, but I believe they were yellow. Later
they were green for a number of years. Finally, this last change, they
became blue.
When we buy an old car here now that happens to be a "1-owner with the
original, green title" the car's originality has a bit more clout than had
the orig. been lost and a duplicate issued--which would be a blue-colored
one. And if the car is old enough and is a "1-owner with the original old
yellow-colored title", then you again have a little more assurance of its
originality than had the orig. been lost or become unreadable and replaced
with a duplicate 'green' OR 'blue' one.
Check with the old-timer dealers and research the issue, maybe thru
Google--I feel sure you'll find a color-change-progression over the years.
HTH & good luck, sdlomi2
