I was wondering about how much it is supposed to cost to replace a fan
assembly in a 2000 dodge intrepid. I was given a quote of around $700.
The part itself cost $285 online through NAPA. Any help would be great.
thanks

Do you mean the entire shroud around the fan and radiator?
Fan motors are about $35-$50.

That is the price quoted by NAPA for the entire assembly.

Sometimes you can replace the individual motors, but I did not find that
option with this unit at NAPA.  Autozone shows the individual Siemens
fan motors  at $109 which could save you money.

Or if money is tight you may be able to find the unit at a junkyard.

$400 to install this seems a bit high, but I have no idea how much trouble
it is to get the old unit  out .  On many cars, it is not too much of a job.

That's what I'm wondering.  It doesn't seem as if it should take around
5-6 hours of work to get too it. Just trying to find out how much
trouble it is.

Open the hood and take a look for yourself.  I dont know this model, but
have replaced fans on other cars.  Some of them are dead simple.  Some
are a little more cramped.
