I have a 1990 Subaru loyale that is overheating whan I run the A/C.
I have checcked the usual suspects Radiator clogging, thermostat, A/C
elec fan, all are fine, all shrouds etc in place.. A/C works great, but
makes my engine temp climb into the red at any RPM, or speed after
15-20 ,in driving.. Any suggestions before I have to take it to the
shop?? Thanks.

How are you determining that your radiator and thermostat are
functioning properly? My feeling is that a car of that vintage... even
if it's had the radiator changed once... may be due for another.

Well the radiator is only 2 yrs old, so I have discounted it, and the
thermostat is the first thing I changed, but nothing changed.. the odd
thing is that it does not overheat at all in any driving condition
withouth the A/C ( I live in Phoenix, so its really hot here) but as
soon as I turn on the A/C within 5 min I am in the red even on the
freeway :(

Is it possible that there's a lot of leaves and crap between the
condenser and radiator causing airflow to be dramatically reduced?

Well... the fact that you have this problem just when the A/C is on...
leads me to believe that your cooling system heat transfer is
"marginal". This can only be caused by a few reasons. One is that the
radiator is not transferring the heat properly... because of fluid
blockage, mineral build-up, or poor airflow through it. The other
reason is that the coolant flow through it has a flow problem.
