VW KK - 03 May 2004 20:41 GMT They do not buy Volkswagen automobiles, are an excrement
Roger Blake - 03 May 2004 21:40 GMT >They do not buy Volkswagen automobiles, are an excrement I don't think I'd want to own a Volkswagen myself, but they do have their good points. Good gas mileage, don't have to worry about antifreeze, goes great in the snow, and pretty reliable for a foreign job. (Though for me this doesn't make up for their being noisy, underpowered, cramped, uncomfortable, and having lousy heaters.)

Agreed, bentley and porsche aren't what they used to be, and Audi never was :)
there is no Skoda group to defend the marque, they are all to busy out driving to sitt infront of a computer screen for hours.

Troll - One
Chevy truck ng - Zero (I think he won that round)
And maybe instead of saying oh I remember blah blah blah about VW. How about getting off your duff and going to a dealership to test drive a new TDI with leather. I think 50 mpg/city and 70 mpg/higway isn't anything to sneeze at, while you go pay $2.50/ gal for your blood sucking big block. Don't get me wrong I've got a 454 in my wheeler too but I damn well do not drive it everyday.

I assume you are posting from the US being able to afford to run 454, so you won't have seen the rebuilding of skoda as a brand. They are now budget concious version of VW models all across europe.
The Fabia vRS sporty small hatchback is actually based on a Polo with the new PD130 engine. Very fine turbo diesel engine.
I have driven the 2 litre turbo Petrol Octavia vRS which is basically a reclothed Golf GTTi 180 with a boot/trunk instead of a small hatch, and the fabia is a far smaller car with a as torquier an engine.

I'm Canadian through and through, NOT AMERICAN ooops, sorry to insult you.
Not that I have anything against Americans as people as a whole, just certain ones (they know who they are), but I think being american carries certain stigmas, and risks these days wether you are guilty of anything or not.

Dori A Schmetterling - 21 May 2004 19:37 GMT Clearly VW does not own Porsche but strong links do go back a long way. After all, who designed the original Volswagen (now known as the Beetle)?
