Hi -

This may not sound like a big deal, but I would appreciate it if someone
could recommend a good, sturdy notepad / clipboard for my car, one that sits
on the dash and attaches securely there, either with a suction cup to the
windshield or by some other means.  It should hold 3x5 index cards.

I have seen many inexpensive ones at places like Pep Boys, office supply
stores, etc., but they're generally flimsy and the clips break after only a
relatively short period of usage.

Thanks,
Tim

Why not just buy a clip and screw it to a piece of thin plywood, or a
piece of aluminum.  I know just what you mean about cheap plastic
ones.  You better make one soon, before they start making the plywood
and aluminum out of plastic too.  Then people wonder why gas prices
are so high.  It's because they are using half the oil to make heap
plastic crap that you throw in the trash after a few uses.  Look at
how much plastics are used in cars now.  Just like my 89 Chevy, whose
door handles keep breaking because they are plastic, and the
replacements are the same junk.  I've replaced every one of them at
least once.

If I bought an older car with metal handles, I bet I'd never have to
replace a handle, and in 2050 they's still be good.

I suppose I should not complain too much though.  At least I still
have a metal body with metal bumpers, and my engine block is iron, not
plastic.

You're better off than I--my engine isn't iron; just my block is-- the
heads are aluminum!  Possibly a step towards plastic?!?!  s

Tim,
You may consider STARLITE NOTES for a premium note and map
holder-windshield mounted- includes pen and 3 x 5 notepad.
