I am posting this message in hopes that anyone who considers
purchasing parts from this company might come across it.  I purchased
a used engine from Mid City Auto Salvage (www.midcityautosalvage.com)
mid September 04.  I have finally come to the realization today that I
lost $995 to a scam artist operating as a parts reseller.  Shaun at
Mid City (the owner) has finally stopped returning my phone calls
after hanging up on me when I asked where my motor was...  I was told
by him originally that it had shipped on 10/15/04, and surprise... the
shipping company has no record of my freight at all.  Shaun has no
answer for this. Apparentely the State of Wisconsin is investigating
him for fraudulent business practices since they have recieved
numerous complaints similar to mine.  The Wisconsin BBB has also
revoked his membership and currently lists 98 complaints against him
in the last 36 months, and 73 complaints in the last 12 months.  I
only wish I would have found this information prior to making my
purchase..... I usually research everything, and in this case my
mistake cost me $995.  The companies website looks very professional
and states that they have been in business since 1987...The company
only takes payment by check (red flag...duh.. what was I thinking)
because "we offer such low prices we don't want to pay the percentage
to the CC company."  Sounded reasonable at the time.. Please stay away
from companies who use that line.  I'm an ex-police officer and I
should have seen this one coming a mile away.  The fact that this
company is a fraud is not my opinion, it is a fact that can be
researched through the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice or the BBB.

You're getting hotter!

Go to: alt.autos.camaro.firebird and ask for Charles Bendig, one of the most
reputable salvage people on the net!

PS
Sorry to see you got porked, but crossposting will get you flamed and
killfiled. But, I can sympathize with you. Good luck again!

No records were found, based on the criteria you entered. If there is no BBB
reliability report on a company, it may mean the firm is new to the area, or
that the local Bureau has not had sufficient activity to develop a report.
