HELP - registration question...

My car was towed, and I had too many tickets to get it back (it was a lot
of money). A friend managed to buy it from a salvage yard, and now he
wants to give it back to me. He says that a salvaged car has no history,
so I can register it again - cheap. I have a feeling that someone ELSE
could do that, but if I go the DMV with it, my old tickets/fees will
magically reappear. Am I right about this? if so, is there any way I can
ever re register it without paying all those tickets (like have someone
else do it first)? I live in California. Thanks

Wouldn't it have been much simpler to not have repeatedly done the things
that you had done to get that many tickets in the first place? So now
you're faced with the consequences of it all.

The interesting lesson you seem to have learned is not to change
behavior/practice (the right choice), but to try and beat the system (the
wrong choice). Bud, you'll just get yourself in deeper and deeper and
deeper than you already are with that approach.

The vehicle would have to be issued a salavge title. The DMV may or
may not issue it, however, until the existing fines are paid (even if
the new owner is not you). Even though the car was taken, I suspect
you still owe the fines, and no matter what car you try to register
you are not going to come up smelling like a rose.

Just pay your fines, stop parking where you should not, and don't give
excuses. James advise is good, right to the point. I suspect you don't
have a driver's license either, as most states will pull it when your
fines exceed a certain amount.
